Selection Alliance publishes guidance on contextual admissions
22.02.18
The MSC Selection Alliance has produced a new resource for medical school staff: Indicators of good practice in medical admissions.
Contextual admissions are where the social and educational contexts of applicants are taken into account during admissions processes. This is a key part of widening participation and there are many different forms it can take.
This document describes some of the main considerations and approaches in contextual admissions, with recommendations on good practice. It has been produced with medical school staff and is intended as a resource for them in setting their institutions' policies.
