Medical schools welcome opportunity to share experiences and shape the future of the NHS
21.10.24
The Medical Schools Council welcomes the launch of change.nhs.uk, the government’s new online platform aimed at empowering members of the public, NHS staff and health care experts to share their experiences using the health service and help shape its future.
Dr Katie Petty-Saphon, Chief Executive of the Medical Schools Council said:
“It is encouraging that the government recognises the importance of open dialogue. This new platform will provide an invaluable opportunity to gather feedback from across the healthcare system, ensuring that reforms are guided by evidence and real-world experiences. Feedback needs also to cover the importance of pushing the boundaries of knowledge within the healthcare system and educating the current and next generations of healthcare workers.
"Close and effective inter-departmental working will be vital to achieving impactful change. Medical schools will play a crucial role in these reforms by expanding the number of medical school places to address essential workforce needs and by conducting ground-breaking medical research. We look forward to engaging in this national conversation and learning from the insights shared, ensuring that future doctors are well equipped to meet the demands of a modern, patient-centred NHS.”
