Degree (graduate applicants)
Graduate applicants will need to be predicted or have achieved an upper second-class Honours (2.1) degree from a recognised UK university. Science and non-science graduates are considered equally. Degrees awarded by universities outside the UK are not accepted.
Graduates are normally expected to have achieved grades of at least ABB in A-levels taken prior to their degree, including Chemistry and Biology.

A Levels and Scottish Highers
A*AA. Biology and Chemistry are required with either at grade A*
A1,A,A at Advanced Highers (or A1,A at Advanced Higher and A,A,A at Higher), to include Chemistry and Biology at Advanced Higher with either at A1.
International Baccalaureate
39 total points. A total of 19 points is required in three higher level subjects including 6 and 7 in Biology and Chemistry, in either order. No higher-level score below 5.
GCSEs and Scottish Nationals
English Language and Maths are required at grade B or 6.
Access to HE Diplomas
Currently, we accept applications from candidates who are studying the Access to HE Diploma (Medicine) at the College of West Anglia or Access to HE Diploma (Medicine) conforming to the QAA subject descriptor for medicine. Candidates studying the Access to HE Diploma (Medicine) conforming to the QAA subject descriptor for medicine please confirm with the provider that the diploma meets this requirement before registering. Candidates are responsible for ensuring that their Access diploma is eligible before applying to this Medical School.
International Baccalaureate
UCL does not use the Personal Statement to select candidates for interview. We encourage applicants to use the opportunity of writing their personal statement to think reflectively about their skills and experiences, and how they have helped to prepare them for a career in medicine, this includes evidencing attributes, skills, behaviours and values needed to work within the healthcare service.

Work experience
We recommend that applicants have an understanding of what a career in medicine involves. We advise students to gain any experience that involves working with other people, building relevant skills, and reflecting on the attributes needed and if possible, gaining insight into healthcare professions, to help with their application. Your reflections on what you learnt from your work experience may be assessed at interview and we may request that candidates provide evidence of the work experience that they have done to their interview. Please also refer to the helpful work experience guidance provided by Medical Schools Council.
Widening participation
Access UCL is our contextual offer scheme. Eligible students will receive a reduced offer of AAB (AA to be achieved in Biology and Chemistry). Please see our website for further details and eligibility.

Work experience
Applicants are asked to submit a transferable skills statement, which allows them to reflect on: work experience /shadowing/ voluntary work or experience in a caring role, impact and value of the work undertaken, the level of responsibility taken within this experience. The statement will be the focus for one of the stations in the multiple-mini interview.
Widening participation
Weighting will be given to widening participation students who apply for UK places on the course. During the application process, all shortlisted applicants for UK places will be invited to complete a widening participation form if they wish to be considered against these criteria.
Four regional UK scholarships offering full tuition fees and a maintenance grant are also available.
