CLINICAL LECTURER (SCHOLARSHIP)

(also known as Clinical Teaching Fellow)

 

Applications are invited from individuals, from any clinical discipline, who are fully registered medical practitioners and who have a keen interest in medical education. Applicants are normally in specialty training with an NTN but with permission for one year out of programme. Other applicants may have recently completed specialty training or be waiting to start specialty training. Recent experience or knowledge of teaching in an NHS setting is essential.

 

The Clinical Lecturer (Scholarship) scheme is now in its eighteenth year and aims to professionalise medical education by providing comprehensive educational experience for doctors in training. You will play a key role in the design, development, delivery and assessment of undergraduate teaching in NHS Grampian. You will also provide strategic support to, and have experience in, the University of Aberdeen MBChB curriculum.

 

The post is based in the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition on the Foresterhill campus, Aberdeen. 

 

This is a full-time position for one year, from August 2019. As either an out-of-programme experience or stand-alone experience, this post can equip you in your future career to lead and inspire in medical education.

 

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Clinical Staff Salary Scale for Staff not holding Honorary Consultant contracts (£34,125 - £60.356 per annum pro-rata) with placement according to qualifications and experience.
